The Northop 2000 Group was set up in 1997 to co-ordinate community activities to celebrate the millennium. In 2000 it organised a street party, bonfire and fireworks display and installed a unique commemorative analemmatic sun dial. It also mounted an exhibition of the history of Northop. The material from the exhibition has since been published in book form as “The Pride of Northop” available from the Post Office. The group still meets because of the support from the community and continues to organise activities such as street fairs and craft fairs. The fourth annual classic car show is under preparation and they are busy planning a Christmas Market. |
